Atacama first began producing speaker stands back in 1986. Since 1969, up until this time, the company had specialised in high quality manufacturing in the aerospace industry. With the knowledge gained from this high tech industry where acoustics and resonance are of vital importance, Atacama introduced the universally praised SE Series speaker stand.

Atacama's philosophy was, and still remains, to create a rigid column which is sonically dead and which will hold the speaker securely, allowing as much energy as possible to emanate from the speaker drivers as music and reduce cabinet movement which is detrimental to the speakers performance. At the same time Atacama were aware of the need to produce a speaker stand that was aesthetically pleasing that would blend into a home environment.

Since those early days, Atacama have received many prestigious awards for the performance of its products, whilst gaining a reputation for offering value for money. The product range is now extensive, with speaker supports catering for virtually all applications, which are also complimented with a comprehensive list of equipment supports which incorporate natural hardwood veneered or toughened glass shelves, designed for both Hi-Fi and Audio Visual use.
